Scenes of Hanoi

Greetings from Hanoi, Vietnam!

We’ve been exploring this bustling city for a little under a week now, enjoying some much needed down time after the Christmas period, and thought we’d share a few photos from our experience so far (there will be a more in-depth post to follow).

It’s been a little overwhelming at times, mostly from the fluid driving style and incessant car honking, but that’s part of what makes this city of seven million people so fascinating.

Highlights have been the crumbling architecture, flavoursome cuisine and ridiculously overloaded scooters – a source of endless amusement. We’ve seen everything from families of five to fridges, washing machines and even mattresses transported via scooter.

Here are some of our favourite scenes of Hanoi:

Chris Ashton

We’re Chris Ashton and Simon Ceglinski, two Aussie travellers with a love of exploration and adventure, and the odd bit of luxury thrown in. We seek out street art, street food, and scuba diving wherever we go, and prefer the road less travelled over well-worn tourist paths.
