Solo September the month solo travellers have been waiting for

Love solo travel but don’t want to pay single supplements? You’re in luck this month.

Award-winning tour operator On The Go Tours has joined the industry-wide campaign Solo September to provide better opportunities for solo travellers. The campaign aims to create a coalition of businesses offering discounts and deals to people choosing to holiday alone.

In June, a Travelzoo survey revealed 96 per cent of Australians have either travelled alone or are considering doing so in the future, showing solo travel is no longer a minority choice. Despite this growth, 78 per cent of Australian’s defer solo travel because of perceived high cost – with the biggest deterrent being the cost of single supplements.

Natalie James, General Manager Australia at On The Go Tours said: “In recent years we’ve seen impressive growth in enquiry from solo travellers wanting to travel as part of a group with guides on hand to ensure the smooth running of their trip. And while we have offered solo traveller discounts during our previous sale periods, we’re excited to offer a wider range of solo travel deals this September.”

The special offers include no single supplement on selected departure dates for tours including the nine-dayKing Tutankhamun escorted group tour in Egypt, the eight-day Taj Express tour in India, 15 day Delhi to Colombo, and the nine-day Highlights of Nepal trip.

They’ll also be offering 50% off single supplements on a variety of tours including the nine-day King Tutankhamen tour in Egypt, the 12-day Alexandria and Ancient Egypt tour, and the popular 10 day Egypt Unplugged tour.

Deals will be on sale from 1st September until the 30th September. For more info, visit the On The Go solo travellers page.
