Flynn has Arrived to Shake up the Cairns Hotel Scene

Cairns is so hot right now – and I’m not just talking about the temperature. The balmy seaside mecca in Tropical North Queensland has become the newest battleground in the luxury accommodation stakes, and Flynn is the latest hotel to throw open its doors.

The third Crystalbrook Collection property in Cairns, Flynn has been dubbed ‘the social butterfly’ of the family. Originally set to open back in April earlier this year, Flynn is at last ready to dust off the cobwebs of 2020 and welcome travellers back to the city with open arms.

“Crystalbrook Collection is an integral part of the cultural landscape of Cairns, and we are thrilled to complete the trio in Far North Queensland with the opening of Flynn,” says Geoff York, CEO and Group Director of Crystalbrook Collection.

“With the hope that all Australians will be welcome in Queensland by Christmas, the opening of Flynn is part of our ongoing commitment to support and invest in the Australian tourism industry.”

Situated on the Cairns Esplanade, Flynn features 311 stylish rooms and suites, many with jaw-dropping views of the Coral Sea, two glass pools, an Eléme Day Spa and 24-hour gym.

The ground-level restaurant, Boardwalk Social, has been open since January and has already proved an instant hit with locals. The market-style food and beverage hub is all about live music, local ingredients and brews, with 40 different kinds of gin to sample.

Flynn’s Italian, the hotel’s signature restaurant, will bring some European charm to Cairns when it opens in the coming months. On paper it already sounds amazing, with heartfelt Italian food that celebrates local produce backed up by an extensive Italian wine list.

Also set to join Cairns’ flourishing bar scene soon is Flynn’s sophisticated Whiskey and Wine Bar, featuring an expansive selection from boutique Australian whiskey producers, local and imported wines, home-style delicacies, and a spread of modern Australian snacks.

We’re off to Cairns in a fortnight and are looking forward to checking the hotel out!
